Our History

“Mau Africa Safari was established by Tanzanian origin/native named Maulid.

Maulid is just a young man, he is originally from the area around Tabora region where is found in center –west of Tanzania country. In Tabora region is where found the biggest tribe in Tanzania “Sukuma Tribe” and 405 km from Butiama Region where the First President of Tanzania was born and raised around   the area his name “Julius K. Nyerere”.

From a young age, Maulid knew he wanted to share and show his country to the different people outside Tanzania. So, he went to Tourism school in Arusha and paid the studies with the cash he earned by selling chickens on the streets and markets in Arusha from his small chicken (poultry). During his studies he learned about the tourism business and he further learned about all the animals and nature in the parks of Tanzania. After his studies Maulid wanted to start a tourism company.

So he started to organize trips, Safari wih Tanzanian local people to share his studies and to make the whole community around him to love, care and knowing different things around National Parks. Now Maulid arranges /organize safari with different people worldwide so now Mau Africa Safari” is proud to be growing company in Tanzania and Maulid is happy to share his knowledge about wild life and history of Tanzania. Maulid could not have been happier to see their business grow and employ more local people of Tanzania, take care of his family and be able paying school fees for his young sister in Arusha.

Today Mau Africa Safaris is proud to provide good and quality services. We endeavor to make our customers happy and provide them with an adventure of a lifetime. We thank you for supporting our mission.

Tanzania’s Climate

Tanzania has a very typical tropical climate but it varies depending on the area you visit (in short, it is not the same being on the shore of a beach than it is being 1,000 meters above sea level).

Temperature at relatively low attitudes rarely drop below 200C at any point in the year.

That being said the hottest months are from November through February and coldest from May to August.

Cultural Tour

Tanzania has much more to offer than Serengeti Safaris. You can enjoy while visiting culture too in Tanzania with 120 tribes with different mother local languages but speak one language “Swahili” Official Language in Tanzania.

The Maasai originally from Kenya but also partly- based out of Northern parts of Tanzania are an African ethnic group that’s existed for centuries and has a population of nearly 3 million.

When you’re on a Safari , visiting a Maasai Village will be interesting too in you interrary and were here to tell you why you should miss it.

Zanzibar’s Climate

A great time to visit Zanzibar is from June to October, the temperature is not too hot and it’s the peak of the dry season.

The rainy season (also called the long rains) kick in during march making it raining and humid until may, You’d do best avoiding these long-rain months especially if you want to snorkeling or  scuba drive and properly enjoy Zanzibar’s beaches .

Then, in November and December you can experience what they call the :short rains” these rains sessions aren’t as abundant as the  afore mentioned months , so November to December make for good choices as well  if you decide to travel off season.
