Katavi: The Africa of old

Remote, wild and wonderfully uncrowded, Katavi offers a sense of old Africa through broad plains, rivers and impressive concentrations of wildlife.

Katavi is one of the least-visited parks in Africa. As the dry season advances, the Katuma River shrinks into pools packed with hundreds of hippos, while vast herds of buffalo gather on the Chada floodplain.

Days here can pass without another vehicle in sight. It is ideal for travellers who have done the classic circuit and want something deeper.
