Serengeti: Endless plains, endless stories

Tanzania's legendary wilderness, known for its vast plains, extraordinary wildlife and the annual movement of the Great Migration.

The Serengeti covers almost 15,000 square kilometres of grassland, acacia woodland, rivers and granite kopjes. It holds one of the densest concentrations of large predators on earth: lions sprawled on the rocks, leopards draped in sausage trees and cheetahs scanning the short-grass plains.

From December to March the herds calve on the southern plains. By mid-year they move west and north towards the Mara River. Even when the migration is elsewhere, the resident wildlife of the central Seronera valley makes every game drive remarkable.
