Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Momella Gate → Miriakamba Hut
Walk past buffalo and giraffe into the forest (2,514 m).
Day 2: Miriakamba → Saddle Hut
Steep climb to Saddle Hut. Afternoon walk up Little Meru.
Day 3: Socialist Peak → Miriakamba
Ridge ascent to the summit at sunrise, with Kilimanjaro floating above the clouds.
Day 4: Miriakamba → Momella Gate
Descend and transfer to Arusha.
