Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Your Mau Africa guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport for the transfer to your Arusha hotel. Take the evening to rest beneath Mount Meru and receive a short briefing on the journey ahead.
Day 2: Into the Serengeti
Climb through the Ngorongoro highlands and descend onto the endless plains. Game drive en route to central Serengeti, arriving in time for sundowners.
Day 3: Northern Serengeti
Head north towards the Mara River, the setting for the dramatic river crossings of the migration (generally July to October).
Day 4: Mara River
Patient, responsibly positioned waiting along the river: crossings are wild and can never be guaranteed, but often unforgettable.
Day 5: Mara River
Another full day in the north, with a bush breakfast overlooking the plains.
Day 6: North → Central Serengeti
Game drive south through the heart of the park.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home, or continue on to Zanzibar. Fly from Seronera airstrip or drive via the Ngorongoro highlands.
